Missing teeth? We help you smile again

If you're missing teeth, you may feel self-conscious about your smile and concerned about your oral health. But don’t worry! At Dental One, we provide a range of tooth restoration options, including dental implants and extractions, to help you smile with confidence again.

If you have missing or severely decayed teeth, a dental bone graft may be needed to create a strong foundation for dental implants. Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that helps rebuild and restore the gum tissue around missing teeth, enhancing the appearance of your smile while protecting the exposed roots from further damage and decay.

Whether you're exploring the benefits of a dental bone graft or any other dental procedure, Dr. Milanpreet Singh and the team at Dental One are here to help you regain your confidence and restore your smile! Request an appointment today.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is bone graft surgery like?

Bone grafting is a straight forward procedure that typically takes less than 90 minutes to complete.

  • Before the procedure begins, the patient will be given local anaesthesia or a sedative to help them relax.
  • A small incision will be made in the gums, and the graft will be placed and secured in the desired area.
  • Once the graft is in place, stitches will be used to close the incision.

The entire procedure is designed to be as minimally invasive and comfortable as possible for the patient!

Traditionally, bone material for grafting procedures was taken from other parts of the patient's body. However, more advanced and less invasive options are now available, including synthetic materials, donated human bone, or bone from animals such as cows.

Although you may feel better within 1-2 weeks after the procedure, the grafted bone will not be fully ready to support an implant for approximately 3 to 4 months.

Most patients can expect to feel fully recovered within 1-2 weeks after a bone grafting procedure. Some patients may experience discomfort or soreness in the days following the surgery, but this can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. If you have any concerns about your recovery, be sure to discuss them with our dental team.
